“New Shoes”
Do you have a favorite pair of old shoes that are far too raggedy to be worn (in public) anymore but simply too comfy to get rid of? Even though you may very well have a plethora of newer, fancier options, you prefer to reach way into the back corner of your closet and dig out your beloved pair. Old shoes are similar in nature to an old job or an old relationship. Let's keep it real; you know when you've maximized your potential in a given environment. Not to mention those old shoes have begun to smell like sweaty feet, by now. Perhaps it's time you stepped into a new pair of shoes. You deserve an upgrade. New shoes enhance your swagger. New shoes help put a little more pep in your step. Plus, haven’t you noticed …the right pair of new shoes can make an old shirt and old slacks look new too. Today, step out of your comfort zone and go shopping for new shoes. Be blessed.

why is it we are so afraid to try on a new pair of shoes? what holds us back?
NEW shoes isnt the solution! You have to take care of the old shoes before moving forward into new shoes. (Old shoes can be like new if only you polish, buff and get a new soles). See, if you never have taken care of old shoes you will have the same pattern with NEW shoes! Everyone enjoys the HIGH of new shoes but they get old too!
There is nothing like an old pair of shoes. They are there when you need them, you know they fit your foot JUST RIGHT, they make you FEEL GOOD everytime you wear them. Old shoes remind you of good times and keep you grounded. Don't be fooled by a new pair of shoes. New shoes become old shoes. How much are you willing to invest in new shoes? How many pairs of shoes are you willing to replace? Be careful, those new shoes might hurt your feet, leave your feet tired and bruised, cost way more than what they are worth, last a lot less time than those old faithfuls in the closet. They will give you a new step TEMPORARILY, but what do you do when those new shoes don't meet your expectations...you get out those old shoes. The ones that have stuck by you...never let you down...have been with you through the good times - those days when the sun was shining...and bad times...rain, sleet and snow.
Something led me to your blog today. I once chose a new pair of shoes. They are now at a local Goodwill. Today I have on my old shoes and life is good!
Man – it looks like you stepped on some toes with your new shoes. LOL I interpreted what you were saying as 'don't be afraid to try something new and don't get stuck in the rut of the familiar.' there are a lot of good things out there but we sometimes get comfortable with what we know and new experiences can be kinda scary. Surely you weren't saying throw out the old 'just because it's old'. But, what do I know. ;-)
You understand me don't you Penni? LOL. I simply meant to imply that some of us have shoes that give us corns and we still don't bother buying a new better fitting pair.
Dear Ms. Anonymous #2: Thank you for your comment...
I didn't mean to imply that we should not take care of the shoes we currently possess. I was trying to convey the idea that some of us have taken care of shoes that didn't take care of us. What good is a fresh coat of polish on an old shoe that's still too tight?
Dear anonymous # 3... Thank you for taking the time to leave an insightful comment on my blog. Much appreciated.
I did not mean to suggest that we should replace old shoes with new ones just for the sake of upgrading. The truth of the matter is that many of us have long since outgrown our old comfortable shoes. We've endured corns, bunyons, and are headed towards some serious 'hammertime', if we're not careful. Why continue to squeeze into a tight fit when you could be 'gellin'.
