Eye knew better...
How many times has your intuition proven reliable? Some people might attribute their keen instincts to rare psychic abilities while others charge it to life's experiences. Almost as astounding as our foresight is our own ability to disregard it. That's right... many of us have found ourselves enthralled in countless unfortunate situations simply because we made a conscious decision to disregard our initial instinct. Even the sharpest of folk have fallen victim to lack of sound judgment at some point in time.
I don't know about you but one thing that has consistently held true for me is that whenever I've disregarded my instinct I've wound up in regretful territory. Chances are if you've ever ignored your mind's eye then you too have had to deal with regret. So is it that we are all gluttons for punishment or are we just disobedient by nature? If in fact our intuition is often accurate; why then does it take for us to find ourselves in adverse circumstances before we realize that we knew better all along? What do you think?

I have to say that the tune of my blatant disregard goes something like this, "While my instinct was correct the last zillion times, maybe this time, this ONE time, it won't be and I'll miss out". Those are the odds that pretty much keep me from playing the lotto or worrying about getting struck by lightning - so why do I choose to play so fast and loose with life's decision? Beats me, but I'm trying to work on it. I may not always follow my own judgement, but at least I'm trying to consistently listen before I throw it out the window...

Wow, Corey you hit the nail on the head today. There are many times in which we all have gone against our instinct and it has proven us wrong. Dead Wrong. However, If we always play it safe, I think we will always live our lives in the same hum drum boring fashion. I think it’s important to sometimes take a chance, throw caution to the wind. If it fails, at least you’ll be much smarter the next time around.
Recently, I have fallen victim to using a lack of sound judgment. Now while I totally regret every decision I made, regarding the situation, I know that when it is all over I will never make the same mistake again. So to sum it up, I would say It’s ok to occasionally lay the little instinctual notion aside and step out on faith. Just be prepared to accept the consequences should you have to hear that voice in the back of your mind saying “ Eye knew I knew better!”.

We are disobedient by nature; Genesis informs us of this. It takes discipline to consistently obey. Discipline is learned. There are so many temptations in the world that mask situations and have a way of presenting them in a more "positive light" than they really are. We often don't stop, listen, pray and listen again before we act on a situation or make a decision. We think we need to act fast instead of wait. Unfortunately our intuition tells us to do the opposite of our desires and we deal in want instead of need.
It's not steppingout on faith if you don't listen to God or your intuition to begin with, obeying God/obeying your intuition is stepping out on faith and displaying trust.
